“Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) is an American science fiction comedy television series created by Joel Hodgson and produced from 1988 to 1999. The show revolves around a man named Jonah, who is trapped on the satellite Skyman 5 by mad scientist Dr. Clayford Clayton Forrester and his daughter, TV’s Frank, along with their robot servants, Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo. To keep himself sane, Jonah builds two more robots, Gypsy and Cambot. The series is known for its format of featuring Jonah and the bots watching and making witty comments on a series of low-budget films, which serve as the backdrop for much of the comedy. In 1996, Mystery Science Theater 3000 transitioned from television to cinema with ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Movie’. This film is represented by the provided movie poster, showcasing the main characters and the title in a cinematic setting. The film follows Jonah and the bots as they are launched into space aboard the Satellite of Love and stranded on an asteroid where they stumble upon an old movie theater. To pass time, they are forced to watch a series of B-movies, providing ample opportunity for their witty commentary.”
